The Work of Byron Katie

As a Certified Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie, I mainly work with this method. The Work is a method of inquiry. Inquiry to me means investigation. And investigation means searching for the truth. What is our truth? Is it what our parents have taught us? Is it our culture? Or our environment? I believe that there is a difference between our beliefs and the truth. Our beliefs is what we have learned, what we have become. The truth is who we are, always were and always will be. The truth lies beneath the beliefs. It’s the unchangeable. Let’s discover your truth. Let’s unravel who you are.

How The Work works

First we’ll identify who or what upsets you. We’ll dive into the situation(s) and identify stressful thoughts that keep you from being at peace. Once we have isolated those thoughts, I will ask you 4 questions (and appropriate sub-questions) for you to find what is true for you.

The four questions of The Work are:
1) Is it true?
2) Can you absolutely know it’s true?
3) How do you react, what happens when you believe that thought?
4) Who would you be without that thought?

What follows are turnarounds. Your examples to these turnarounds will establish your truth in these specific situations. And in my experience: way beyond these situations too.

And more?

Since 2024 I’m certified in Systemic Family Constellations. After many years of personal development I have also become familiar with the following modalities and will use them appropriately: journaling, A Course in Miracles, Circling, Reiki, mindfulness, breath work and meditation. I’m very much inspired by Eckhart Tolle and Mooji, so I might quote them from time to time in our sessions.
